Greece yacht charters, fully crewed

Captain, chef and hostess, included as standard.

The engine cuts off in a bay you would never find on a guidebook. The chef has the octopus on already. By the time you have swum to the rocks and back, dinner is on the aft deck and the only other boat in the bay has just left.

We inspect every yacht we recommend. Only the top 5% make our shortlist.

Section 02 · #right-fit

Is HELM the right fit for you?

We work with a specific kind of client. Here is who we are built for, and where our sister brand Anchor is the better call.

HELM is a fit if

  • You want a fully crewed week. Captain, chef, hostess.
  • Your budget starts around €30,000 a week, before APA and VAT.
  • You would rather be guided to the right yacht than scroll through hundreds.
  • You value a broker who has been on the boats and met the crews.

Chartering under €30,000 a week?

That is exactly where our sister brand Anchor are the experts. They are the people to talk to for bareboat and skippered charters, with the same standards and a different product. We will introduce you.

Section 02.5 · Our Greece credentials

Greece is what we do best

Greece is HELM's number one destination — over a third of every charter we book happens in Greek waters. Here is what that gets you.

80+ Greek charters every season

Every year our brokers spend weeks on the ground in Greece, boarding yachts at the Athens and Lavrion shows and re-checking the boats and crews we already know. The result is a shortlist that comes from real time on real decks, not a screen.

35% Of HELM's annual bookings

Greece is our number one destination. More than a third of our bookings each year happen here, which means we know which weeks move first, where there is genuine room to negotiate, and which crews keep clients writing home.

1:1 Dedicated Greece broker

You get one personal broker from the first conversation to the moment you step off the dock. One person, one phone number, no handover. They know the boats, know the regions, and answer their own email.

"Just returned from an incredible 7-day voyage. From the first call to the last day on board, the HELM team made everything smooth as silk. The yacht and crew were exactly what they promised — and then some."

Marcus Ashe, HELM Charter Broker
Our brokers were in Greece this May

"Most of the people who book with me have never chartered before. The job is not selling them a yacht. It is working out what kind of week they actually want, then finding the boat and crew that delivers it.

Greece is the most varied charter ground in the Mediterranean. The difference between an Ionian week and a Cycladic one is huge. Matching the right one to your group is most of the work."

Section 04 · Why HELM

Three things we do differently

We inspect every yacht we recommend.

Charter brochures are designed to sell. We have walked the decks, met the crews, and turned down the yachts that did not measure up. Only the top 5% make our shortlist.

Crewed charters only.

Bareboat and skippered are different products. Our sister brand Anchor handles those. HELM is the brokerage you want when the crew is part of the holiday.

350+ charters delivered each year.

We get continuous feedback from real charters. The yachts on our shortlist are the ones our last clients actually wrote home about. The ones that did not make the cut quietly came off.

Section 05 · Cruising grounds

Choose your cruising ground

Greece has 6,000 islands. Fewer than 230 are inhabited. The trick to a charter here is knowing which 12 to actually visit, and in what order. Pick a region to start, or leave it to your broker.

Section 06 · Boarded this May

Eight yachts we boarded in Greece this May

We spent May in Greece at the Mediterranean Yacht Show (Nafplion to Poros) and the East Med Yacht Show, boarding more than 200 yachts. These eight stood out, from €32,000 to €199,000 a week. All crewed, all available this summer, every one personally walked by our brokers.

Section 07 · Which type

Catamaran or motor yacht?

The biggest choice you will make in Greece, and the one your broker is there to get right. Here is how we steer it.

Crewed catamaran

The default for families and first-time charterers.
  • Shallow draft, so you anchor in bays the bigger boats cannot reach.
  • Wide, stable decks and shade. Easy with children and non-sailors.
  • Two or three crew, and the most living space for your money.
  • Sail when the wind is right, motor when it isn't.
Browse Greek catamarans →

Crewed motor yacht

For range, pace and a higher gear of service.
  • Speed and range. Cross to a new island before lunch, anchor somewhere quiet by evening.
  • Multiple decks, a beach club, and the toys to go with them.
  • More crew per guest, chef-led dining and full service.
  • Calm-water comfort, whatever the wind is doing.

Section 08 · What your budget gets you

What different budgets get you in Greece

A rough guide to where the weekly rate lands you, before VAT and APA. Every bracket is fully crewed. Tell your broker your number and they will point you to the boats genuinely available for your week.

Up to €30kper week
Crewed catamaran. Captain and hostess, wide stable decks, and the shallow draft to reach bays a monohull cannot. The natural way into crewed Greece, for four to eight guests.
€30k–€60kper week
Motor yacht or premium catamaran. A planing motor yacht for range and pace, or a larger, higher-spec catamaran with more space and an extra crew member.
€60k–€100kper week
Luxury catamaran or motor yacht. Three or four crew, a proper beach club, and the toys to match. Generous, comfortable space for eight to ten guests.
€100k–€250kper week
High-end motor yacht. Full crew, multiple decks, and the speed to cover more ground in a week. Chef-led dining and every cabin en suite.
€250k+per week
Superyacht. The top of the fleet. Ten-plus crew, beach clubs, and lifts between decks. The class of boat in our May shortlist, with genuine space for twelve.
Section 08.5 · What's in the price

What the weekly fee buys, and what runs separately

Greek charters aren't all-inclusive. The headline fee covers the boat and the people on it. Day-to-day running costs (fuel, food, harbour fees) sit on top as APA — a working kitty that gets reconciled at the end of the week. Here is the split, in plain English.

In the headline weekly fee

  • The yacht
Sail, motor or catamaran. Built and maintained to charter standard.
  • Captain, chef and hostess
Most crewed catamarans carry two or three professional crew.
  • Insurance and basic equipment
Hull, third-party, plus the standard sailing kit.
  • Water toys and tender
Paddleboards, snorkel gear, kayaks. Bigger boats often carry e-foils, jet skis or sea-bobs.

On top as APA · 30–40%

  • Fuel
Diesel for the engine plus generator and tender fuel.
  • Food, drink, provisioning
All meals on board plus everything in the bar. Chef shops to your preferences.
  • Mooring and harbour fees
Greek marinas charge by foot. Quiet anchorages are free.
  • Greek VAT
From 5.2% to 13%, depending on charter length.

Anything unspent on APA at the end of the week comes back to you in cash. Gratuity for excellent crew runs around 10% on top, paid week-end.

Section 09 · FAQ

Frequently asked

How much does a crewed yacht charter in Greece cost?
Crewed charters in Greece start from around €30,000 a week for a smaller crewed catamaran. A larger crewed catamaran in peak season runs €50,000 to €90,000. Motor yachts and superyachts go from there into seven figures. Add APA on top for fuel, provisioning and mooring fees, plus VAT. If your budget is below €30,000, we are probably not the right brokerage. Happy to point you toward someone who is.
Why don't you list prices on the page?
Charter rates change yacht by yacht and week by week. The owner sets the rate, the broker network sees the same number, and the only honest answer to "what does it cost" is "tell me your group and dates and we will come back with a shortlist".
What is included in the headline price?
The yacht, the crew, insurances and standard equipment. Fuel, food, drink, mooring fees and harbour dues run separately as APA, paid in euros. Anything unspent is returned to you at the end of the charter.
Do we need to choose a region before enquiring?
No. If you have a preference, telling us up front saves a step. If you do not, your broker will ask a few questions about pace, ages, sailing experience and what kind of week you want, then make the recommendation. Most clients arrive without a fixed region in mind.
When is the best time to go?
May, June and September are the sweet spots. Warm, settled, quieter than peak. July and August are the islands at full volume.
What is APA?
APA stands for Advance Provisioning Allowance. A working fund, typically 30–40% of the headline charter fee, paid in euros at the start of the charter to cover fuel, food, drink and harbour fees. Anything unspent comes back to you.
